AHHA

Helping a purpose-centred studio find their voice.

ahha is an architectural studio and social enterprise, on a mission to drive a more sustainable and equitable future. They do this through a revolutionary new approach to designing and building spaces, working to an ethically focussed framework that ensures every project is measurably sustainable - ecologically, socially and financially.

Derived from the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, this self-developed framework operates across 6 domains of carbon, ecology, circularity, health & wellbeing, equity & access, and community & culture. Designing through the lens of this framework enables ahha to integrate positive impact measures at the outset, enabling intentional decision-making, cemented best practices and resource efficiencies across the board.

A rare example of putting true sustainability into practise, the studio needed an identity to represent who they are as an organisation, and position them in market to attract likeminded, values-led clients. I worked with the team to develop a strategy that captured their difference, and a communications framework to aid consistent messaging out in the world. Extended Whanau designed a dynamic identity inspired by the interweaving domains of ahha’s holistic approach, and a rich web experience was created by New Territory.
